Hybrid Hard Drives Are Now a Reality
Seagate unveils it's new hybrid hard drive. It contains a 4GB SSD with a traditional platter drive. This gives you a boost of speed from the SSD while getting a lot of storage without the astronomical SSD prices. While we wait for NAND prices to come down this hybrid drive offers the most bang for the buck.
Seagate accomplishes the task of merging the two technologies by having the drive analyze what data is used most frequently and storing that data on the SSD portion of the drive. All of this is done by the drive without intervention from the operating system any software.
Various benchmarks say that these drives see a good performance boost compared to traditional drives and are almost as fast as SSD only drives.

Had a great time celebrating Amy and Karen's birthday at Wurstküche. Though I myself enjoyed drinking the strongest yellow beer on the left the most the others were good. The Lightest tasted a bit watery though.

Had had great chance to visit Oakland again. On the streets they retired all of the individual parking meters in lieu of a centralized parking payment machine. This one is the last remaining relic on that street.

Today I was one of those guys sitting at the Starbucks with my Mac (I think I was one of three) though instead of working on my novel or screen play I was actually just surfing the web. Thinking back I should have pretended to come up with a great idea and start typing like crazy once in a while to complete the ruse.
